It's springtime for Dearheart!

I unofficially went into photography hibernation for the winter...but once the weather warmed up [temporarily], I got back to shooting relatively regularly.
I've had the pleasure of reconnecting with people and meeting some new ones, and the opportunity to shoot headshots, senior portraits, graduation photos, families and some pretty dang adorable babies! :)  

I've got nine more days of school left and then I look forward to having a much more open schedule for shooting.  

I just signed up for two more photography classes at TCC this summer:
Photography Level III & Wedding Photography.
I'm excited :)

My friend, Roderick was in Kiss Me, Kate with me last year and happened to need head shots done.

Conveniently, I know a photographer ;)

We caught up, wandered around downtown and got some great shots!

I'm so glad we had the chance to work together again.

And since Roderick is fabulous and awesome, he spoke highly of me and recommended me to his friends!

So, Devin and I got in contact with each other and arranged to meet at the Gypsy Coffee House...although we managed to forget about Tulsa Tough and all the traffic.  Oops!

We explored, climbed some things, found a pile of puppies and enjoyed the energy of downtown.

I had a great time with him :)

So far, 2013 is treating Dearheart Photography well :)

I've been busy with families, baby bumps, newborns, pups, powdered paint, head shots and couples.

I had the opportunity to take some classes with Elite Photography Institute a couple weeks ago, am learning to be a better business owner and am continuing to work on my website.  I will be second shooting a wedding in May and will be in California to run a photo booth at another wedding just a week later :)

I love my clients and the constant opportunity to grow!

Lauren {portraits}

This is Lauren--my super fun, sassy, talented friend.

We make a perfect match because she loves to dress up and pose...and I love to take pictures :)

For this particular shoot, "industrial vogue" was the look we were going for.

Lauren's friend, Kasey of KNH Makeup did a fabulous job on Miss Sassy's face and we all met up in the h-o-o-d.  We found abandoned buildings, barred windows, barrels, etc. to shoot near and had a great time, all the while trying not to get mugged.  

I'm happy with the results and look forward to working with Lauren again!

A few months ago, I had the honor of being a part of "Kiss Me, Kate" at Broken Arrow Community Playhouse and made some great friends in the process.  One of those friends, Lauren, was our fabulous female lead.  She is amazingly talented, gorgeous and sassy...so when she asked me to take some headshots for her, of course I jumped at the chance!  We met downtown right before sunset--unfortunately on a Wednesday night near McNellies, which led to lots of funny looks and comments from admiring passersby :)  Regardless, we got some great shots and had a blast doing it.  Here are some of my favorites:
